What’s that Bronson saying now?!? (Part 2)

I made cookies for Bronson one day. When he came home from work, he smelled baked goods and asked, "Where is it? Where is the pie?"
I told him, “There's no pie.”
He checked the oven, felt it was warm and insisted I tell him where the pie is. Again, I told him, “No pie!”
Not satisfied, he looked all over the house for 15 minutes shouting, "I know there's pie!"
I was laughing so hard that I could barely tell him he smelled cookies!

Bronson Lee - I don't have chipmunk cheeks!
Tera - Oh yes you do. (laugh, laugh)
Bronson - If you say I have chipmunk cheeks one more time, I'll get liposuction.
Tera - In your cheeks?
Bronson - Yes!

Bronson Lee - Where is the windscreen shipping from?
Me - Cali
Bronson - Thailand!?!
Me - Cali
Bronson - California?
Me - No! The other Cali!
(Bronson had that look of someone who just realized what they said but it's too late to unring the bell!)
Me - Um, where is the other Cali?
Bronson - Kali-mazoo?

Joyeux Anniversaire…that’s Happy Birthday to you and I!!

For Bronson’s birthday, I wanted to do something pretty special. At the time, he really liked Bruno Mars and I thought we could go see him in concert. When I googled Bruno’s tour schedule, I saw he was playing in Paris the week after Bronson’s birthday. Well that just wouldn’t do…so I thought why not just go to Paris. Bronson had been collecting Eiffel Towers for some unknown reason. So that’s what I did…I booked us a trip to Paris. And what could be more touristy than to also reserve a window-seat birthday dinner on the second level of the Tower at Le Jules Verne?

But, in keeping with true Tera and Bronson fashion, we had to evacuate the Tower right before they brought Bronson’s surprise birthday cake out due to a bomb threat!! Who else would that happen to?!? The good news is they didn’t charge us for our dinner…which was going to be very expensive. Score one for us…finally!!

Of course a trip wouldn’t be complete without Bronson doing something ridiculous. And this is by far one of my favorite memories from our trip. On the morning of our departure, we walked down to the Metro station to catch a train to the airport. I had my rolling carry-on and Bronson had the rolling checked bag with his carry-on strapped to it…and his backpack. I made it easily thru the turnstile (as I read the recommendations to push luggage thru first). I proceeded to the Metro map to plan our route and as I turned to tell Bronson which stops and stations would get us there, I realized he wasn’t beside me. That’s when I saw the funniest thing…Bronson had managed to get himself stuck in the turnstile!! At the Metro station, once you turn the arm of the turnstile it opens a sliding-door gate and you walk through. Well, Bronson had the checked bag behind the turnstile, himself between the turnstile and the doors, and I was on the other side of the doors dying of laughter. (To add insult to injury, two ladies passed thru the turnstiles on either side of him and snickered at his predicament!) He threw his backpack and carry-on bag to me (still dying of laughter), then he somehow managed to lift the checked lugged over the turnstile and then over doors and put it on my side. And in some sort of Houdini move, he slid through the doors! Thank goodness Bronson is a slender fella or he would have really been in a world of hurt! But he’s a good sport and instead of being upset or irritated, he laughed and said, “That’s gonna end up on facebook isn’t it?”

What’s that Bronson saying now?!?

These are just a few things that Bronson said early on in our relationship:

At our first meeting.

Me: Do you have eyebrows?
Bronson: Yes.
Me: Where?
Bronson: It’s dark. You just can’t see them because of my Neanderthal brow.
Me: Oh.

No. That was not the case. He had singed them off at work and was too embarrassed to confess to it!

The flight home from Vegas.

Bronson: (straight faced, dead serious) I think I could survive a plane crash.
Me: Really?!? From 32,000 feet?
Bronson: Yeah, the key is to not tense up.
Me: That’s the key? Don’t tense up?
Bronson: Yes.

About a month later, we were watching Due Date and he heard what he thought added complete credibility to his theory. A doctor said something along the lines of – sometimes drunk drivers aren’t as seriously injured as their sober passengers or victims because they don’t tense up. He felt vindicated!

The Proposal(ish)

…and two months later we were discussing a trip to Las Vegas. See we had never been to Vegas and on a lark we thought it would be fun. So we booked a trip.

I asked Bronson, sweet, innocent, Bronson, if he planned to get me drunk and then marry me (you know, Ross and Rachael style)! He laughed…and didn’t say no. He said, “Why not?”
“Hmm. That sounds like a wedding proposal.” Yep, that was my response! Later that evening I sent him a text message that said, “Are we really gonna do this or was it a joke?”
He replied, “Yes, let’s really do it.”
That was the bended-knee proposal and it was great…true Tera and Bronson fashion!!

About a week later, out of the blue, my sister jokingly asked me when Bronson and I were getting married and I said, “Well, we are going to Las Vegas in a few weeks.” And that is how we broke it to the family. As you can tell, we are real big on tradition.

What better way to get hitched than in Vegas by Elvis…and that is what we did!!

First things first…how Bronson+Tera met

As most everyone knows, Bronson and I live on facebook so it would only be natural that this is how we met. I was sitting in my hotel room in Ozark one drill weekend in September cruising the facebook while my future hubby was in Birmingham at a George Strait concert. This good-looking guy was in my people-you-may-know list…and I immediately thought, “No, I don’t know him but I’d like to!” So if you are wondering, yes, I cyber-stalked my sweet Bronson!!

I clicked the add-friend button with much enthusiasm. Most people have a facebook app on their phone and requests are usually answered with little to no delay. And this little girl eagerly awaited his acceptance but what I didn’t know was that Bronson (a guy that has 600+ friends) was debating accepting my request!! See he, as with most people in my hometown, know my older sister and younger brother but never knew there was a third sibling. In the end, he accepted.

One comment, led to a reply, which turned into witty banter…
